What is Hometown Heroes Program

The Hometown Heroes Program offers financial support in the form of down payment and closing cost assistance to eligible first-time homebuyers with limited income. This assistance enables them to buy a primary home in the area where they are employed and actively involved in community service.

According to
Florida Housing, this program's duration is expected to extend only for a maximum of 8 months following the updates that will be implemented on July 1, 2023. To benefit from this unique opportunity, act promptly by reserving your funds without delay.

How does the Hometown Heroes Program work?

It's simple Any qualified homebuyer can obtain these funds during the closing process as a second mortgage with a completely ZERO interest rate or monthly installment throughout the entire loan period. Repayment occurs solely upon the occurrence of a sale, refinance, or complete payoff of the loan.

Loan programs available: Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA

Single family homes, Townhomes, Condominiums, Villas, 2-4 units total are permitted

Down payment and closing cost assistance is available in the form of a 0%, in non-amortizing, 30-year deferred second mortgage

Available for any Florida-based worker who has not owned a primary residence in the past 3 years
